City of Birmingham Awarded $20 Million “Distressed Area Recompete Pilot Program” Grant
The City of Birmingham has been awarded a $20 million “Distressed Area Recompete Pilot Program grant from the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Economic Development Administration (EDA). The award will go to the city and a coalition of partners committed to workforce investments in the four persistently distressed communities of North Birmingham, Northside, Smithfield, and Pratt.
